The City & The Music Video, Part I

July 25, 2014 by TIA INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

By now, I hope I have established that I’m thoroughly enamored with our world’s biggest (and not so big) metropolises.  I am crazy about them.  Cities are like people.  They have personalities, attitudes, cultures, and a way of life that differs from others — just like people.  Chicago has an essence and personality that is dissimilar to Cape Town’s, or Mumbai’s, or Perth’s.  The common reality of the populace of Rome is not necessarily shared with the realities of people […]

“State of Independence”

July 5, 2014 by TIA INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Hello, everyone!  I hope you have all been having an excellent summer (or winter!) in your respective parts of the planet.  I have been away for quite some time, but I plan to make the effort to be around much more frequently since I have recently detoxified and purged some long-term poisons in my professional and personal life! In the meantime, please enjoy a short time-lapse video of the US’ Independence Day celebrations observed here in Seattle last night. This […]

Seattle’s “Fog Affair”, The Sequel

October 24, 2013 by TIA INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

In January and February 2013, Seattle experienced some major low-lying fog for several consecutive days. When the fog descended upon Seattle, it literally transformed the city into something rather exotic and, to some extent, alien. Needless to say, it was quite exciting for TIA to capture several scenes around Seattle with this new, obscure ambiance hovering above the city! Seattle typically does not have thick, mystifying fog lingering around for several days. As a result, these everyday scenes one would […]

Taking a Moment to Remember. . .

September 10, 2013 by TIA INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

New York was my home from 1998 to 2000. I used to commute to my job in Midtown via the World Trade Center everyday. The observation deck in the South Tower was my favorite spot in the city and I would take all my visitors there. I remember the queue for observation was never as notorious as the one at the Empire State Building. I enjoyed taking my friends who were native New Yorkers to the top of the WTC […]

Beautiful Day by the Bay

March 14, 2013 by TIA INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

San Francisco is on my mind at the moment. Since I was a child, I still think it is the most beautiful city in the United States. The Bay, the Bridges, the city, the neighborhoods and, of course, the people — they each make the city so unique and spectacular in its own remarkable way.

Hope & Irresponsibility

March 5, 2013 by TIA INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

I think it happened somewhere on Hope Street between  W. 2nd & W. 3rd Streets, possibly a little after 8pm. It was the fourth day of November in 2011, a Friday night. I was enjoying the urban grid of the streets of LA on what turned out to be a very clear night.  It had been raining when I arrived from Seattle (perhaps it followed me?), but the rain seemed to purge the city of its pollution and clear the night sky, if only […]

TIA International Photography would like to extend its warmest wishes of Joy, Happiness, Success, Prosperity, and Good Health to you and your families in the New Year. I’m going to challenge myself to make at least three postings every month on this blog. There is little sense having the handy tool if I do not use it occasionally. Thank you, and have a wonderful, exciting year ahead. No more matching triple digit dates until January 1, 3001 (01.01.01)!  See you then! […]

Can’t Get New York Out of My Head

July 28, 2012 by TIA INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Hi everyone!  Please enjoy my latest photo video showcase, featuring the mega-metropolis known as New York City.  This is my first full-length photo video since last year’s “Paris X.X.L.”!  In addition to my passion for night-time photography and aerial photography, I often like to compile the hundreds, if not thousands, of photographs from one location and create a short video.  What you’re viewing here, in many parts of the video, are four separate photos (or frames) per second.  When viewed […]

Vancouver, Where It All Began. . .

February 1, 2012 by TIA INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

I would like to take a moment to pay tribute to Gastown, the birthplace of present-day Vancouver, Canada.  This image, taken from the intersection of Cordova, Water, and Richards Streets, is where I discovered the magic and interminable delight of night-time photography in late November 2008.  If I had been asked at that time if I ever knew I would assume the challenge of starting my own small photography business, I would have scoffed at the notion and dismissed it […]

A View to a Thrill

January 28, 2012 by TIA INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

I thought I would pay a small tribute to what I believe to be the most beautiful city in the United States — San Francisco, California.  Ever since I was a boy in grade school, I had seen photos of this magnificent city whose two bridges were as iconic in their own rights as the City is itself. This image was photographed during my first seaplane tour from Sausalito in April 2008.  As I was traveling on my own, I […]
